MONROE, N.C. -- Police found several weapons at Monroe High School on Friday during a routine search with a metal detector.
Among the weapons discovered: an air pistol, a box cutter and two knives.
Monroe Police searched the school on Sunset Drive at 8 a.m. Friday, according to a summary provided by the police department on Sunday. All the items were seized.
The student who possessed the air pistol was charged with a crime. Charges are pending against the student who had the box cutter. The names of the students and their exact charges were not released.
The knives were found on two school buses but No. 415 and bus No. 30. Police said there were no witnesses.
