CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two 13 year olds robbed a Charlotte convenience store at gunpoint, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says.

The store clerk says they entered the Quick Mart in the 2500 block of Freedom Drive around 9:20 Thursday morning.

Police say they demanded money from the employee behind the counter and fled on foot.

Officers found them minutes later. Both were taken to a juvenile detention center and charged with armed robbery.
