CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Bobcats and Wells Fargo Bank gave a wounded soldier and his wife a house in between quarters at Wednesday's Bobcats game.

Carl Morgan received a Purple Heart and a medical retirement from the Marines after being injured in Afghanistan in 2011.

Morgan, his wife and child were both surprised with a mortgage-free home during a ceremony at center court after the first quarter.

Morgan and his family were invited to Wednesday night s game against the Nets, and he thought it was simply for a military appreciation night.

The Bobcats mascot, Rufus Lynx, gave Morgan and his wife a large key as the public announcer explained to them that they're receiving a mortgage-free home.

Both Morgan and his wife were emotional after receiving the news and embraced each other at center court before thanking the crowd.

Morgan retired from service in early 2014.
