LINCOLNTON, N.C. -- The Lincoln County Sheriff s Office said they have seized the largest amount of illegal prescription drugs ever in Lincoln County during a Thursday morning traffic stop.

Investigators received a tip that the suspect vehicle would be on Highway 150 East and had a large quantity of prescription pills.

Deputies located the vehicle and stopped 54-year-old Terry Lee Graham on Jenkins Road around 10:45 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators arrived and asked for permission to search the vehicle where they located a container with 454 methadone pills and 1,453 Xanax pills. A total of 400 assorted uncontrolled pills were also seized bringing the total number of pills seized to 2,307, according to the sheriff's office. Deputies also confiscated a .380 caliber pistol during the search.

Graham was taken into custody and charged with two felony counts of trafficking in opium and heroin and one felony count each of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Graham was placed in the Harven Crouse Detention Center under a $115,000 secured bond.
