Two heavily-armored men entered the courthouse around 11:45 a.m. with a bomb robot and came out about 15 minutes later.
Officials say the package was not a threat and the courthouse will be reopened at 2 p.m, according to the Union County Sheriff's Office.
The judicial center houses the district attorney s office, the Clerk of Courts offices and other offices in addition to the courts themselves. It is adjacent to the county government center and across the street from the historic Old County Courthouse.
