Shops hope you'll buy local for Small Biz Saturday
Small businesses in Charlotte hope they're not forgotten in the Black Friday hype--some are even banking on it.
She moved to Charlotte from Durham, and has loved discovering the city's shops -- like Boulevard at South End.
I think I've really begun to appreciate, because this is now our community, Tebbit expressed.
That s the idea behind Small Business Saturday-- a movement started three years ago to help give local shops a boost.
It s people that want to help small business; people have a heart for helping small businesses, said Carmen Ellis, the owner of the small boutique, Boulevard at South End.
The Blank Canvas is only open a month; they're hanging their hat on hopes of a big weekend.
Owner Harold Jordan said, A lot of people shop here don t like the mall at all cause of the hassle. They come here for the customer service.
