CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A man was shot while in his car in north Charlotte Monday night.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said 20-year-old Cedric Kirkland was sitting in his car with two other friends on LaSalle Street when he was shot in theback.

Kirkland drove to his apartment where he called 911, according to police.

Medic said Kirkland suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Carolinas Medical Center.

The two other men in the car were not injured. Police have not made an arrest in this shooting.
