SALISBURY, N.C. -- One person is dead and another injured after an early morning shooting at an apartment complex in Salisbury.
Around 4:30 Sunday morning, an officer working security at Clancy Hills apartments heard gunshots ring out on the other side of the complex.
The officer rushed to the scene and found 25-year-old Tyson Gaymon suffering a gunshot wound to the arm and torso. The officer immediately called medical personnel to the scene.
A few minutes later, a second victim was located, 27-year-old Eric Maurice Feamster. Officials say Feamster's injuries were much more severe than Gaymon's. Feamster suffered gunshot wounds to the torso.
Both men were transported to the hospital, where Feamster was eventually pronounced deceased.
Gaymon was transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for additional treatment; authorities say his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
After canvassing the neighborhood in search of clues and potential witnesses, officials are asking for the public's help with any information that may lead to the identity of the shooter.
