ROCK HILL, S.C. The Superintendent for Rock Hill Schools is leaving and moving on to North Carolina.

Rowan-Salisbury Schools tweeted that Dr. Lynn Moody will take the top position on October 1, 2013 following the retirement of Dr. Judy Grissom on September 30.

Rock Hill Schools announced that Dr. Moody would leave her position after seven years to be the Superintendent for the Rowan-Salisbury School System.

The announcement was made through email to all teachers and administrators in the district. Rock Hill School officials said Moody came to Rock Hill in March of 2003 as an associate superintendent for planning and programming.

In Rock Hill, she made history by becoming the district s first female superintendent in August of 2006.
