CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. -- The Humane Society seized 80 horses from a home in Chesterfield County following a series of complaints.

The couple that owned the animals allegedly neglected them by failing to provide water and hay for the dozens of horses.

Since they were surrendered in December, most of the horses have been placed back with the original owners who bred them. Most will be moved to stables out of state.

The Humane Society and Chesterfield County Animal Services provided medical care to the animals, including one pregnant horse.
