CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolinians are happy to see the latest winter storm go.

But conditions are still tricky Friday morning. A winter weather advisory is in effect in the mountains. Forecasters say freezing conditions are creating icy roads. Up to 4 inches of snow is possible Friday night and early Saturday morning.

A winter weather advisory was also in effect Friday morning across central North Carolina, including Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Raleigh and Fayetteville because of dangerous driving conditions.

Early Friday, skies were clear across almost all of North Carolina. Temperatures ranged from 18 in Franklin to 39 in Beaufort and Hatteras.
