CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police are investigating a shooting in the northeast part of town.

Officers were called out the 5900 block of North Tryon Street late Monday morning on reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived on scene, no victim was located but officials located a blood trail.

Police tell NBCCharlotte one person arrived by private vehicle to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound connected to this case.

Police do not have a suspect in custody and are actively investigating.
