CALDWELLCOUNTY -- The father of Zahra Baker is not scheduled to be in court until November.

Adam Baker isn't due back in Caldwell County court until November 3 now on charges of simple assault and communicating threats.

He was scheduled to appear in court today but his attorney, Shell Pearce, was granted a continuance for November.

Pearce said Baker's wife, Elisa Baker, is an important witness in their case and wasn't able to be in court today.

Elisa Baker is being held in federal prison for murdering her 10-year-old stepdaughter Zahra, and is also due back in court on November 3.

Pearce said they hope they can also have her testify in Adam Baker's hearing.

Baker's attorney claims his client is not guilty of the charges against him.
