GASTONIA, N.C. -- Gaston County is dealing with its sixth rabies case of the year.

Animal Control says a woman called on Monday and said a rabid skunk attacked her son's dog.

The skunk was killed and the carcass tested positive for rabies.

The dog will be quarantined for six months because it wasn't up to date on its rabies vaccines.
