CHARLOTTE, N.C. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police discovered two concrete cylinders on a bridge overpass in uptown Sunday.

An officer discovered the cylinders on a bridge overpass at 700 S. Tryon Street that covers Interstate 277.

Detectives with CMPD are investigating the incident.

Anyone with information with regard to these cylinders is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

All smooth at airport

There were no delays for arrivals or departures at Charlotte Douglas International Airport Sunday.

Officials there said operations were running smoothly and there was normal traffic numbers as of Sunday afternoon.

The airport overlook is closed through Monday, and an increased security presence remains.
