CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said one of two motorcyclists injured in a crash last month has died.

Police said James Walker, 42, died Saturday at Carolinas Medical Center. He had been there since the September 29 crash.

Walker and Ervin Lee Johns were riding their motorcycles outbound on Rozzelles Ferry Road on September 29 when one or both of them lost control of their vehicles. Police say the two were speeding.

Both drivers were charged with driving while impaired.
