RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- The wife of an Army general facing sexual misconduct charges in North Carolina says she thinks the charges will be dropped.

Rebecca Sinclair told CBS This Morning on Monday that evidence earlier this month during a hearing at Fort Bragg shows several relationships Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair had with female officers were consensual.

Sinclair faces charges including forcible sodomy, wrongful sexual conduct, violating orders, engaging in inappropriate relationships and adultery.

The 27-year Army veteran was deputy commander in charge of logistics and support for the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan before being abruptly relieved in May.

Rebecca Sinclair says the multiple deployments required during wars that have gone on more than 10 years put tremendous stress on military families. But she says the deployments are not excuse for affairs.
