WAXHAW,N.C. -- A fire broke out at a home in Waxhaw early Thursday morning.

Fire officials said a home off of Kensington Drive caught fire around 3:30 a.m.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control, but the home suffered massive damage from the fire.

Several firefighters are on the scene investigating the cause of the fire.

The family who lived at the home were not there when the fire started. Officials said they're on vacation in Florida.

No one was injured during the blaze, according to officials.
