CHEROKEE, N.C. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating the discovery of a man's body in a creek near Harrah's Cherokee Hotel and Casino in western North Carolina.

Cherokee Police Department spokeswoman Alica Wildcat said the man, described as elderly, has not been identified. She said no foul play is suspected.

Wildcat said police responded to a report of the body in Soco Creek Monday morning. The creek runs beside the casino off U.S. 19.
