COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Tim Scott is traveling around South Carolina and listening to veterans' concerns about health care services.

The Republican is making stops on Friday in North Charleston, Greenville and Lexington.

The tour comes as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs investigates claims of delayed care and unauthorized wait lists. The furor resulted last week in the resignation of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki.

Scott called for Shinseki to step down. He told The Associated Press this week that he respected Shinseki's service but felt a change in leadership was needed to better protect current and future veterans' care.

Scott says he plans to analyze the information he learns Friday and present it to members of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee.
