CHARLOTTE, N.C. A Charlotte pastor and his wife are appealing their convictions on tax evasion charges.
Lawyers for Anthony and Harriet Jinwright officially filed the paperwork last week.
Anthony Jinwright was the pastor at Greater Salem Church in west Charlotte. The IRS says that he and his wife failed to report more than $2 million in income on their tax returns.
A federal jury convicted the couple on fraud and tax evasion charges in May.
Earlier this month, Anthony Jinwright was sentenced to eight years and nine months in federal prison and Harriet Jinwright was sentenced to nearly seven years.
