CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have cracked down on vendors selling counterfeit Panthers merchandise during home games.

Police issued citations to a vendor who was selling T-shirts with a Panthers logo and Newton on the back with the schedule included after Sunday's game, according to a police report.

The suspect was also selling merchandise without a permit within the city limits on the roadway.

A second vendor was also cited and had his merchandise confiscated after he was stopped on the 500 block of South Mint Street, according to the police report.

Both vendors were given mandatory court appearances for their violations.
