ROWANCOUNTY, N.C. -- A lengthy investigation into the heroin distribution in Iredell County netted two arrests of Rowan County residents.

Iredell County Sheriff Phillip Redmond says 42-year-old Edward Daniel Patchett and 23-year-old Brianna Helene Barry, both residents of the Cleveland area, were arrested and each charged with three counts of trafficking, one by sale, one by possession and the last by transport.

Narcotics investigators say Patchett was involved in the distribution of heroin to residents in the Statesville area. Following several undercover deals with Patchett, investigators determined Barry was also involved in the distribution operation.

Detectives say they purchased approximately seven grams of heroin collectively from Patchett and Barry, with a street value of $14,000.

Bond for Patchett is set at $200,000. Barry's bond was set at $253,000.

Officials say the investigation will continue, and more arrests are expected.
