UNIONCOUNTY, N.C. -- On Tuesday, Wanda Sue Larson stepped into a Union County Superior Court room wearing a gray shirt over her Orange Union County inmate outfit.

The 57-year-old former DSS supervisor faces additional charges stemming from an investigation launched when she and her longtime companion were arrested for abusing an 11-year-old that they had guardianship off.

Larson found out that the same attorney that was appointed when she was arrested back in November will also represent her on the additional charges, which include three counts of negligent child abuse, one count of intentional child abuse, and one count of false imprisonment.

She is due back in court on April 1.
