CONCORD, N.C. -- A person was injured when a fire damaged a home in Concord Sunday night.

A fire broke out at a home on McGill Avenue Northwest. The fire was called in by a passing motorist who reported smoke coming from the home.

The victim was taken by Cabarrus County EMS to Carolinas Medical Center - Northeast

A total of 30 firefighters brought the fire under control within 8 minutes, according to officials.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
