CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are hoping the public can help them identify a suspect in an armed robbery.

Last Wednesday around 8 a.m., an armed man entered LA Insurance in the 2600 block of Westerly Hills Drive.

Police say the suspect displayed a gun, pointed it at an employee and demanded cash. An employee managed to shut the door to the business, and the suspect fired a shot inside.

The suspect is described as a black male standing about 5-foot-10 with a thin beard. He was last seen wearing a black beanie and wearing all dark gray clothing.

No one was injured in the robbery.
