CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking for the public s assistance in identifying suspects in an armed robbery at a west Charlotte convenience store.

Police said two men entered the Tru Food Mart located on Westerly Hills Drive around 7 p.m. Thursday. The victim stated that the suspects brandished a firearm and demanded property from the clerk. The suspects took several cartons of cigarettes and fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The first suspect is described as a black man, about 5-feet-10, medium build with a beard and was last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt and khaki pants. The second suspect is described as a black man, about 5-feet-10, average build and was last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt, black jeans and a Panthers hat.

No one was injured during the robbery, according to police.
