CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A lightning strike sparked a blaze at a 5000-square-foot home in south Charlotte Thursday evening.
Charlotte Fire crews were called to the 5200 block of Kirby Mews Court around 8 p.m. Thursday.
NBCCharlotte's crew on the scene says the two-alarm fire started by a lightning strike to the attic.
No one was home at the time, officials say.
No injuries have been reported.
Thirty-six firemen worked to bring the blaze under control in about 50 minutes.
The Red Cross will be assisting the displaced occupants.
