GASTONIA, N.C. -- Gaston County Police have apprehended a man accused of running over a woman in the Quik Trip parking lot last month.
The incident happened around 10 a.m. Friday, February 21, at the Quick Trip in the 300 block of East Long Avenue.
Police say 29-year-old Michael Reinhardt pushed the victim from his truck. As he drove away, the truck s back tire rolled over the woman s back.
The woman was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
Reinhardt was arrested Wednesday after being located in a mobile home in the 100 block of Jeran Lane in southwestern Gaston County. Police say that Reinhardt initially refused to come out of the mobile home, but surrendered after a brief negotiation.
Reinhardt is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury. He was also detained on several outstanding warrants.
Cramerton Middle School within the Gaston County School District was placed on a perimeter lockdown through the end of the school day while law enforcement searched for Reinhardt.
Reinhardt was booked in to the Gaston County Jail under a $25,000 bond.
