CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police reopened part of Randolph Road after a tree fell early Wednesday morning.

A massive tree blocked all four lanes of Randolph near Wendover Road since 1:15 Wednesday morning.

Police and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities spent several hours cleaning up the road and debris that the tree brought down with it.

Police said all inbound and outbound lanes of Randolph are clear for the morning commute. However, sidewalks in that area are still closed as crews continue to clean up down branches.
