CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The odor of gasoline prompted a HazMat response and the evacuation of a high-rise building in Uptown.

The Charlotte Fire Department responded to the 100 block of South Tryon Street in uptown around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say the Trust Condo Building was evacuated due to a strong odor of gasoline.

No word yet on what prompted the smell.
