CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police arrested and charged two teenage males for a Charlotte murder and a series of other crimes that took place Sunday morning.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives say Randy Shaun Lloyd, 16, and a 15-year-old juvenile are responsible for Ronald Gullette s death.
A third person was arrested in Gullette's murder on Tuesday; Charlotte-Meckleburg Police arrested a 16-year-old boy and charged him with felony accessory after the fact.
Police say Sunday s crime spree started around 2:30 a.m. when the teens approached a victim driving a Saturn in the 4700 block of North Tryon Street. The suspects allegedly demanded the vehicle at gunpoint and fled in the car.
They then targeted another driver in the West Boulevard area around 4 a.m., according to police. One of the teens is accused of threatening the man with a black object while he was at stop light. The suspect allegedly took the driver s phone and then got into his gray Dodge Ram and fled the scene.
Almost four hours later, the suspect driver pulled up to a jogger in the Dodge in the 2200 block of Canterwood Drive. One of the teens got out of the truck and demanded money from the victim, according to police. They then fled again in the truck.
Shortly after, the truck pulled up behind a driver of a Pontiac Vibe. The suspects pulled into the victim s driveway in the 7700 block of Pence Road. One of the teens allegedly took his wallet and once again took off in the victim s vehicle, followed by the other teen in the truck.
Then around 10 a.m., police say Gullette was killed in his car parked at his home on Hemby Woods Drive. Witnesses told police a gray pickup truck and blue vehicle sped away from the home after the shooting.
A sergeant noticed the stolen Dodge Ram about a half-hour later and pulled over the driver in the 1400 block of Ventura Way Drive. Police say the driver refused to stop, resulting in a short chase. The pursuit ended when three suspects jumped from the truck and ran. Police quickly arrested a male juvenile and female juvenile.
The 15-year-old male is now charged with murder, four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted robbery. The female is charged with resisting arrest. Police say she was not involved in the other crimes.
The other suspect, Lloyd, turned himself into police Monday afternoon. He s charged with murder, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Detectives say two other suspects are involved in these incidents. Anyone with information should call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 704-334-1600.
