STANLY COUNTY, N.C. -- An alleged repeat offender has been arrested for several crimes across two counties.

The first investigation began in early April after two reports of breaking into coin operated machines in Richfield. Police say Joshua McLain, 22, broke into a soda machine at B.B. Oil, Inc. on Highway 49 S. and a car wash machine at Richfield Car Wash on West Church Street.

A warrant was then issued for McLain s arrest.

Later that month, police identified him and Stash McLain as suspects in a third breaking and entering incident in New London. The suspects allegedly stole wire and cables from businesses in Stanly and Cabarrus counties. They sold the material to metal recycling business, according to the sheriff s office.

Cabarrus County deputies stepped into the investigation. They arrested both suspects in Cabarrus on April 29.

Joshua McLain faces several charges including breaking and entering and larceny. He will face charges in Cabarrus County, as well.

Sasha McLain is charged with embezzlement, larceny and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering.

Both were booked into Cabarrus County Detention Center.
