HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- A fire ripped through a townhome in Huntersville early Sunday morning.

Just before 1 a.m. Sunday, multiple fire crews were called to a home in the 14000 block of Rocky Top Drive after a caller reported a house fire with residents trapped inside.

When crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke billowed from the first and second floors of the middle-of-the-row townhome.
