CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two people were taken to the hospital after a fire ripped through a home in east Charlotte early Wednesday morning.

Fire officials said a home on Eastwycke Place Drive was heavily damaged by fire around 1:30 a.m.

Two people from the home were taken to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation, but no serious injuries, according to Medic.

Fire officials are still investigating how the fire started.
