LINCOLN, N.C. -- Lincoln County authorities arrested a man after he committed a domestic dispute and led them on a high-speed chase on Sunday morning.

Officers were dispatched to a residence off of Branton Drive in Iron Station Sunday at 9:45 a.m. after a woman said she had been assaulted during a domestic disturbance and the suspect, Justin Eugene Blalock, had fled the scene in her black 2002 Honda.

Authorities chased the Blalock through a parking lot and down U.S. Highway 27. Blalock tried to make a quick turn off of Highway 27 but lost control of the car and slid into a field.

Blalock jumped out of the car and ran toward a group of people at church event outside. He tried to grab a person at the event, but police tackled Blalock and arrested him.

Blalock is being charged with assault on a female, driving while impaired, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, failure to comply, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless and reckless driving.

He is being held at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $22,250 secured bond.
