CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police are looking for the person responsible for running into a pedestrian in west Charlotte this weekend and then driving away.

Surveillance video from Freedom Jewelry and Pawn shows the incident in real time in the early morning hours.

The victim is seen walking across the street in the 4000 block of Tuckaseegee Road before a SUV hits him, tossing the victim more than 10 feet in the air. The SUV stops momentarily before driving off.

After being hit the victim was able to get to his home about three blocks away before someone called authorities.
