WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. -- The fire in south eastern Watauga County that claimed about 140 acres of land is now fully contained.
Officials say they believe the blaze was started by people who were trying to stay warm, but their warming fire got out of control.
As of Sunday morning, around 140 acres have burned, and crews have the blaze fully contained.
With high winds expected overnight, fire crews will stay on scene to monitor, and assure the flames don't ignite again.
No charges have been filed.
