GASTONIA, N.C. -- Police say a man robbed a Gastonia CVS and then a female accomplice hit a store employee with a car while driving away from the crime scene on New Year's Day.

Police say the robbery took place at the CVS Pharmacy at 2580 Court Drive. The man ran off with a variety of stolen items, then entered a 1995 gray Ford car while a store employee chased after him.

The suspect vehicle hit the store employee who traveled about 300 feet on the hood of the car until he was thrown off, police said in a statement.

A white woman was driving the getaway car, police believe. The man is approximately 6'1'', 140 pounds with blue eyes and sandy-colored hair.

The employee's condition is not known.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000. A $1,000 reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
