CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for a man who robbed a grocery store at gunpoint in east Charlotte Friday morning.

The robbery happened around 6:30 a.m. at the Food Lion on The Plaza and Matheson Avenue.

Police said a man went into the store and demanded money from Food Lion employees. A shot was fired during the robbery, but no one was hit, according to police.

The man fled the scene after the robbery and police have not been able to track him down.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
