SALISBURY, N.C. -- The Rowan County Sheriff s Office says it s now using investigative strategies, of which the details cannot be shared, in the search for Erica Parsons.

Detectives say they re keeping the specifics of those tactics under wraps to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Meanwhile, police are also expected to pay close attention to Tuesday s episode of the Dr. Phil Show. The Parsons filmed the episode of the talk show last week. Family attorney Carlyle Sherill tells NBC Charlotte he believes deputies will watch the show to compare what they say to what has already been said in previous interviews with law enforcement.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Casey and Sandy Parsons tell Dr. Phil Erica is alive and they last saw her when they dropped her off with her grandmother, Irene Goodman, in Asheville in 2011. A search of public records shows no one by that name lives within 50 miles of Asheville, the Observer adds.

Sherill says Erica s adoptive father Sandy spent hours in an interview with the FBI last week. The talk of a polygraph test came up but he says none of the family members have been asked to take one as of yet.

Erica was reported missing in early August, about two years after she was last seen. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is expected to release an age progression photo of Parsons this week.
