MINT HILL, N.C. -- Family and friends of Kilah Davenport celebrated her life Sunday night with a candlelight vigil.

Four-year-old Kilah died this week. She never fully recovered after being severely abused by her stepfather. Dozens of people attended the vigil including Congressman Robert Pittenger who's leading the charge to get Kilah's Law passed on a national level.

Kilah's Grandmother expressed her gratefulness for the communities support.

Kilah's been a special person...continued to have an impact on people's lives, said Leslie Davenport.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Kilah next Saturday.
