YORK, S.C. -- The York County Sheriff's Office says a man who was found dead inside a home in the gated River Hills community committed suicide.

Anthony Zanghi was found dead on May 25 when police went to his home to investigate a case of credit card fraud.

Police in Waxhaw, N.C., say 33-year-old Daniel Wood tried to use Zanghi's credit card at a store there. Investigators say when the clerk tried to verify the credit card, Wood dropped it and ran.

Waxhaw went to the Lake Wylie house in an attempt to find the owner of the credit card. That's when Zanghi was found dead.

Police believe Zanghi died in early 2010 and Wood burglarized the home sometime between April and May. Investigators say Wood had stolen $2,600 in items from Zanghi's home.

Wood is in custody in Union County, N.C. He is facing charges in North Carolina and South Carolina.
