STATESVILLE, N.C. -- A long-term undercover drug investigation ended with the seizure of crack cocaine and marijuana, along with two arrests.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division arrested 38-year-old Eric Summers and 32-year-old Latisha Tenille Flowers last Wednesday as a result of a long undercover operation.
Authorities say community tips of a large-scale drug operation in the Park Drive area prompted the operation.
Undercover officers made multiple crack cocaine transactions with Summers, the Sheriff's Office says, purchasing more than $5000-worth of the drug from him throughout the course of the investigation.
The undercover transactions led narcotics officers to obtain a search warrant for Summers' residence on Knox Avenue in Statesville. Detectives say they seized 12 additional grams of crack and power cocaine and 100 grams of high-grade marijuana. The street value of the seized drugs is estimated to be about $7000.
Summers is charged with four counts of possession with intent to sell or distribute crack cocaine, three counts of sell and deliver crack cocaine, four counts of maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and felony possession of marijuana. He was booked in to the Iredell County Detention Center under a $30,000 bond.
Also at the residence at the time the search warrant was executed was Flowers. She's charged with felony possession of marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. She was booked in to the Iredell County Detention Center under a $3000 bond.
