CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A shooting that sent a man to the hospital tonight in east Charlotte may have been gang related.

Police responded to the scene Tuesday evening in the 7000 block of Winding Cedar Trail.

The victim told police he was confronted in the woods by a man who asked him if he was a member of the Crips or Bloods. Then, the suspect shot him in the leg.

MEDIC says he has life-threatening injuries.

A K-9 was called in to assist but was unable to track that shooter.
