CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are looking for the person who shot a UNC Charlotte student in the neck early Sunday.

The student, whom police have not identified, remained in critical condition Sunday morning at Caroinas Medical Center.

According to police, the male student was shot around 12:30 a.m. in the parking lot of The Flats of Mallard Creek Apartments, which is near Mallard Creek Church Road.

The victim was visiting friends at the time of the shooting, and police said that they have no witnesses and no motive at this time.
