HICKORY, N.C. -- Responding to reports of a possible drug violations in a wooded area, Hickory Police discovered a shake and bake-style meth lab on Monday.

Monday evening around 7, Hickory Police responded to the 300 block of LRBoulevard after receiving a report a possible drug violations in a wooded area.

Police say David Allen Jennings, of Hickory, was found to be manufacturing methamphetamine in a 20 oz. bottle.

Jennings was arrested and charged with manufacture of a controlled substance Schedule II and failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge. He was booked in to the Catawba County Jail without bond.

The State Bureau of Investigation was called to the scene to properly cleanup and dispose of the materials.
