MONROE, N.C. -- Two men are charged in connection with the armed robbery of a Kangaroo gas station in early January.

Last Thursday night, Monroe Police Sergeant Chris Helms saw a car that matched the description of the vehicle used for the getaway in the armed robbery of the Kangaroo gas station at 3503 Weddington Road on January 6.

Sergeant Helms pulled over the vehicle and identified the driver as David Vern Hardis, II, 28, of Indian Trail.

After an investigation, Hardis and his alleged accomplice Jeremiah David Flowe, 22, of Monroe, were both charged with two counts of robbery with a dangers weapon and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Flowe was arrested last Friday, but officials are still on the look out for Hardis.
