WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) -- Wilmington police say a bicycle rider has been killed by a hit-and-run driver.

The incident happened about 10:15 p.m. Thursday. Police have not released the name of the man who was killed.

The driver of a medical supply truck tried to perform CPR on the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wilmington police spokeswoman Lucy Crockett says the vehicle that hit the bicycle rider is thought to be white in color. She says the vehicle would have heavy front-end damage.

No arrests have been reported.
