ALBEMARLE, N.C. The Albemarle Police are investigating a deadly crash that left a mother dead and sent three others to the hospital.

The crash happened around 7 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Highway 27 and Highway 52.

Jennifer Fesperman, 34, was pronounced dead according to investigators and her teenage daughter was behind the wheel.

A truck was driving westbound and Jennifer s daughter, 17-year-old Jessica, was traveling southbound on Highway 52. Police say the traffic lights were flashing when the collision happened.

Jessica had four passengers in the car, including her mother. Forty-seven year old Kenneth Fesperman, 14-year-old Jordan Fesperman and 11-year-old Phillip Fesperman were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem for treatment.

The driver of the truck was not injured

The investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.

Reportedly, the Fesperman family of Rockwell were in route to their family vacation.
